Written by Timeline Sports Desk

In celebration of World Heritage Day on April 18, a statue of former India captain Virat Kohli is set to be unveiled at the Nahargarh Jaipur Wax Stadium.

Anup Srivastava, founder and director of the museum, said that it will be the 44th addition of a wax statue in the museum which is built inside a 300-year-old fort. Srivastava, also, mentioned that there was a huge demand for his statue from tourists over the past few years.

“Kids and young girls are crazy for Virat Kohli. So, a decision was taken that a wax figure of Kohli would be installed in the museum which already has statues of Sachin Tendulkar and Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Since Kohli is known for his aggressive playing style, we chose to give the statue a similar look,” Srivastava said.

The statue has been crafted by the talented duo of Ganesh and Lakshmi. It weighs 35 kg and stands tall at 5 feet and 9 inches. The detailing of Kohli’s attire was meticulously designed by Bollywood costume designer Bohi Singh.

Meanwhile, Kohli is currently on Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 duty with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). He has accumulated 319 runs in six matches and currently holds the orange cap for the most runs scorer in the season.

His form is a major boost for the national team in the T20 World Cup year as he averages 79.95 and holds a strike rate of 141.77 with the highest score of an unbeaten 113.
