October seems like the car season with Nissan Magnite Kuro, Lexus LM MPV, Force Gurkha 5-door and others too on the launch ramp. September and August saw launches of Tata Nexon facelift, Honda Elevate and the Hyundai i20 facelift but the October festival season could see more on the offer for the year 2023.
Starting with the Nissan Magnite, the automaker has held hands with the ICC cricket for the World Cup, with the new Nissan Magnite Kuro Special Edition as the official car of the tournament. It is a sub-4m SUV. The all new Kuro could have a black interior and exterior as Kuro in Japanese means black.
The Nissan”s Magnite which was launched in Indian markets in 2020, had come up with an automatic gear box option, a CVT, and a turbo-petrol powertrain at 10 lakh rupees. The new SUV comes with a 5-speed AMT gearbox with its 1-litre naturally aspirated engine and no feature upgrades, but only transmission option. The edition features a 360-degree surround view camera, a 8-inch touchscreen, a 7-inch digital display for the driver, a centre console armrest which would have rear AC vents, and cruise controls. It also has a tyre pressure monitoring system. Magnite is the only car that currently Nissan sells in the Indian market.
The next launch could be the second-generation Lexus LM MPV. The booking of this luxury MPV had started in August with triple digits already in sight. The exterior highlights include electronic, rear sliding doors and a large spindle grille. The interiors speak of opulence with reclining ottoman seats, pillow styled headrest, a 23 speaker surround sound system and a 48 inch tv on the partition between the front and rear cabins. The MPV could come with a 2.5-litre strong-hybrid drivetrain and a price range of Rs. 2 crore.
A facelifted Safari and Harrier from Tata motors along with an EV version could be expected. On the exterior it could have redesigned grilles and vertically stacked headlamps; and on the interior, it could have a large touch screen for infotainment, digital instruments, redesigned centre console and a premium looking smaller gear knob.
Next in line, Tata Punch EV could come in with a new bumper, grille and DRLs tucked under the bonnet line.
Mahindra is expected to enter October with the Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus. The design has features of its former version. It would have a 1.5 litre mHawk diesel engine which could bring in 100 bhp and 260 Nm of torque.
The 5-door Force Gurkha SUV, could come with a new revision from its 3-door sibling. It is likely to be powered by the same diesel engine but with a higher output. Dual airbag, reversing camera and parking sensors could also be a part of this. The expected price range is Rs 16 lakh.
The premium electric sedan, BYD Seal could be the next launch for October 2023. The automobile could come with an 82.5kWh battery pack, which is offered in the international markets and a could give a performance of 0-100kmph run in just 3.8 seconds.
The October festive season could see the Citroen delivering the C3 Aircross. A newbie at the compact SUV compartment, it brings in the option of a removable third row which can seat 5 and 7 occupants. The features include a 10.2-inch touchscreen, a 7-inch digital display for drivers, dual front airbags, and a reversing camera. The French carmaker’s C3 would belong to the first in the segment as a 7-seater. The bookings had begun in September and deliveries are expected in October. It would come with a single 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine with a 6-speed MT and a price range of Rs 9.99 lakh.
