Jaguar Unveils Type 00 EV Concept— Will Be On Sale In 2026

During Miami Art Week 2024, Jaguar made a daring move into the future of electric mobility by revealing its ground-breaking new-generation electric vehicle concept, the Type 00 GT. The Type 00 GT, which will shortly go into production, is a preview of Jaguar’s future generation of cutting-edge electric cars and exemplifies the company’s creative approach to design and technology.

The new Type 00 concept’s design divides opinions. Its boxy shape is complemented by characteristic GT traits, such as a tall hood and a rear end that resembles a coupe. The front part is designed upright with elegant lighting, while the interior is positioned toward the back of the vehicle. The tall front grille might provoke controversial opinions despite the overall low-slung design. The automobile has no back glass, and the taillamps are positioned in the middle of the bodywork for the rear.

The Jaguar Type 00 concept’s interior is simple, with a raised centre console separating the driver and passenger areas. Brass, Travertine, and Alabaster are the three “totems” that the business claims may be used to customise the in-car experience. The cabin also has two enormous fold-away screens. The interior ambience may be established using these totems, according to Jaguar, by changing the ambient lighting and screen visuals, among other things.

The Type 00 concept has not been disclosed by Jaguar in terms of battery specs or other characteristics. However, according to the manufacturer, the production-ready Jaguar Type 00 would have a 770-kilometer range when fully charged and can go 321 kilometres with a rapid charger in just 10 minutes.

All upcoming electric cars from the Jaguar brand will be built on the JEA platform, which is the foundation of the Type 00 concept. Soon, the Jaguar Type 00 concept will be put into production, and by 2026, it will be available for purchase worldwide.
