Jaguar Type 00 EV concept India To Be unveiled On June 14: Launch likely By End Of 2025

Jaguar declared a few months ago that it would transition to a luxury automotive brand that only produces electric vehicles.

A woke advertising campaign and the introduction of its first electric car concept, which proved to be extremely divisive, came next. It has recently been discovered that India will soon see the Type 00 EV concept.

Following its initial public debut in Miami, the idea has been travelling the world, first to Paris, then to London, and now to Monaco.

After that, it will go to Tokyo and Munich before arriving in Mumbai, where it will be displayed at the Jio Convention Centre. For the luxury automaker owned by Tata Motors, the “00” stands for zero emissions and a complete makeover.

The Type 00 concept’s design is undoubtedly divisive, if not outright contentious. It does away with everything that a Jaguar is often associated with.

Despite having a boxy shape, the concept car maintains the typical GT proportions, such as a tall bonnet and a tapered rear end that resembles a coupe. The cabin is located in the rear, while the front end has a straight posture with streamlined headlights.

There may be conflicting reactions to the vertical front grille despite its low-slung shape. Notably, there is no rear glass at the back, and the taillights are centred within the bodywork.

The interior of the Jaguar Type 00 concept is minimalistic, with a raised central console dividing the driver and passenger sections.

Three different “totems”—Brass, Travertine, and Alabaster—can be used to personalise the in-car experience, and the cabin has two sizable, foldable displays. Jaguar claims that these totems let users customise interior settings, ambient lighting, and screen visuals to create a unique ambience.

Jaguar has not yet revealed the Type 00 concept’s mechanical characteristics or precise battery specifications. But according to the business, the production model would have a remarkable 770-kilometre range when fully charged. It can reach a range of up to 321 kilometres in just 10 minutes when fast-charged.

The Type 00 concept is based on Jaguar’s new JEA platform, an electric vehicle-specific architecture that will form the basis of all future EVs produced by the company. The Type 00 will go into production shortly, and in 2026, it will be introduced to the world market.
