MG Cyberster India Launch Confirmed For January 2025 Via The Select Premium Retail Chain

In January 2025, the MG Cyberster will make its debut in India, the company has stated. The brand’s first electric sports car, the Cyberster, made its debut in our nation in March of this year and will be offered for sale through the upscale MG Select retail channel. For its more upscale products, JSW MG Motor India just introduced MG Select, a brand-new retail channel. This high-end dealership chain will sell the Cyberster as its debut offering. There will initially be 12 Select Experience Centres operated by JSW MG Motor India, with more being added over time.

The Cyberster made its debut as a concept in 2021 and during the 2023 Goodwood Festival of Speed. With a wheelbase of 2,689mm and dimensions of 4,533mm in length, 1,912mm in width, and 1,328mm in height, the Cyberster is built on a born-electric platform. In many foreign regions, MG’s electric sportscar is already available for purchase. It has two battery pack and motor choices. The entry-level model has a single 308 horsepower engine positioned on the rear axle, a 64kWh battery, and a stated 520-kilometer range. With two motors producing 544 horsepower and 725 Nm combined, the range-topping Cyberster has a 77kWh battery pack and a CLTC-rated range of 580 kilometers.

India will receive the Cyberster as a completely imported vehicle. However, it is currently unknown which engine choice JSW MG Motor India would provide for this electric sports vehicle in our market. MG’s Mifa electric MPV will eventually join the Cyberster. When it launches, the MG Cyberster should cost between Rs 50 lakh and Rs 60 lakh (ex-showroom). As an electric sports vehicle, the Cyberster will not face any direct competitors in the market; nonetheless, it will be in the same price range as the BYD Seal, Hyundai Ioniq 5, and Kia EV6.
