Kia EV6 Facelift Launched At Rs 65.9 lakh; Electric SUV Which Is Energy Dense
The ex-showroom pricing of the Kia EV6 facelift in India is Rs 65.9 lakh. The new Kia EV, which is only available in the AWD GT-Line variety (entry-level RWD and top-spec GT trims marketed in international markets), has a larger and better battery in addition to an overhauled exterior and interior.
All-wheel drive is made possible by the two electric motors on the front and rear of the most recent Kia EV6 GT-Line. The combined output is 325 horsepower and 605 Nm, and it takes 5.3 seconds to go from 0 to 100 kph, which is 0.1 seconds slower. It is powered by an electric global modular platform (E-GMP) that has a battery installed on the floor. However, compared to the 77.4kWh unit in the pre-facelift model, it now boasts a larger 84kWh nickel-manganese-cobalt (NMC) battery pack. According to ARAI, this NMC battery has a 663-kilometer range and is 8% more energy-dense and lighter. The battery can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in 18 minutes with a 350kW DC fast charger, compared to 73 minutes with a 50kW DC charger.
The exterior has been updated with new bumpers and Star Map headlights (with a new LED light bar between them). These distinctive lights have also been spotted on the internationally marketed EV3 and the flagship Kia EV9 SUV. The 19-inch alloy wheels, the back bumper, and the taillights have all seen some design changes.
The Hyundai Ioniq 5 sibling’s dimensions—4,695 mm in length, 1,890 mm in width, 1,570 mm in height, and 2,900 mm in wheelbase—remain the same. It’s interesting to note that Kia has accommodated a larger battery without altering the dimensions.
A redesigned three-spoke steering wheel with a separate drive mode button has been introduced by Kia. The center console is now textured rather than piano black, which attracted a lot of fingerprints; registered drivers can now start the car without a key thanks to a new fingerprint sensor. The curved panoramic panel, which has two 12.3-inch infotainment and instrumentation screens, has been kept by Kia. Vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) charging, ambient lighting, a wireless charger, a 360-degree camera, heated front seats, a 14-speaker Meridian sound system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and over-the-air (OTA) software updates are among the other amenities available.
