Two significant new cars will be on display at Kia’s booth at the next Auto Expo 2025: the EV6 facelift and the Syros small SUV. Alongside the EV6 makeover, the Syros will make its first public appearance during the event. It had its global premiere last month. Kia’s current lineup of vehicles, including the Carnival MPV and the EV9 electric SUV, will also be available.
With its emphasis on rear seat comfort, the Syros is Kia’s second vehicle in the small SUV market, following the Sonet. It stands apart from the current generation of small SUVs because to its larger wheelbase, tallboy style, and segment-first features including rear seat sliding and reclining and seat squab ventilation.
The Syros is powered by either the well-known 1.0-liter turbo-petrol engine with 120 horsepower or the 1.5-liter diesel engine with 116 horsepower. In around a year, an electric version will be released. Though its extreme look is certain to split opinions, the Syros’s design is based on that of the flagship EV9 SUV. The Syros’ appearance also pays homage to the Skoda Yeti of the early 2000s when viewed in profile.
Kia EV6
At the Auto Expo, Kia will also be displaying the EV6 facelift. A redesigned fascia and updated, more angular lighting components are features of the upgraded model, which was officially unveiled in May of last year. Along with other revisions, the lower grill and front bumper also get a new design. Upgrades to the inside include a redesigned two-spoke steering wheel, an AI-based navigation system, an enhanced head-up display, and a digital rearview mirror. Additionally, a bigger, longer-range 84kWh battery is available.
The EV6 facelift has a bigger battery on the mechanical front. The 77.4 kWh battery pack from the pre-facelift vehicle has been replaced with an 84 kWh battery. According to the Korean test cycle, the bigger battery’s stated range has increased from 475 km to 494 km. The EV6 RWD’s single motor produces 229 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque, whilst the dual-motor models produce 325 horsepower and 605 Nm. Additionally, it has frequency-selective dampers for a more comfortable ride. It is anticipated that Kia would formally introduce the EV6 later in 2025.
Kia EV9
The EV9, which launched on sale in October of last year at an ex-showroom price of Rs 1.30 crore, will also be on exhibit. The Auto Expo will provide the public a chance to see what Kia’s flagship product from across the world looks like when it arrives in India as a CBU import. With a length of more than 5 meters, it is quite imposing. The EV9’s interior is designed with six seats, including captain’s chairs in the second row. With the help of a 99.8kWh battery pack, the India-spec EV9 generates 384 horsepower from two electric motors. Its ARAI-certified range is 561 kilometres.
