Written by S Das

Katy Perry, the renowned American pop sensation, has recently joined the ranks of Tesla Cybertruck owners, adding a touch of celebrity glamour to the electric pickup truck’s growing popularity. In a tweet posted on her X (formerly Twitter) account, Perry shared her excitement about her newest acquisition, thanking Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla Motors, for the delivery of her Cybertruck. The accompanying image of Perry standing next to her sleek new ride sparked a frenzy of enthusiasm among her fans and followers.

Perry’s ownership of the Tesla Cybertruck adds her name to a list of notable Hollywood celebrities who have embraced the futuristic electric vehicle. Joining the likes of Kim Kardashian, Jay Leno, Anthony Edwards, and other prominent figures, Perry’s endorsement further solidifies the Cybertruck’s status as a symbol of luxury and innovation.

The Tesla Cybertruck first made waves when it was unveiled as a concept in 2019, promising a revolutionary design and cutting-edge features. Production commenced last year, and deliveries began in November 2023. According to data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Tesla has delivered a total of 3,878 units of the battery-powered pickup truck as of April 17, 2024.

Available in three different trims, the Cybertruck offers customers a range of options to suit their preferences and needs. From a base-spec single-motor rear-wheel drive variant to a dual-motor all-wheel drive option and a top-of-the-line triple-motor AWD system, the Cybertruck caters to a diverse range of drivers. Pricing for the Cybertruck ranges from $61,000 to $100,000 (approximately INR 51 lakh to 83.33 lakh), depending on the chosen configuration.

Despite its popularity and impressive specifications, the Tesla Cybertruck has faced its fair share of challenges and controversies. Recent months have seen the vehicle come under scrutiny for various issues, including reports of malfunctions with the accelerator pedal. In response, Tesla initiated a recall of all Cybertrucks, temporarily halting new orders and deliveries until the issues are addressed.

In the fiercely competitive American car market, the Cybertruck finds itself vying for attention alongside formidable contenders like the Ford F150 Lightning and the GMC Hummer pickup EV. While the F150 currently reigns as the best-selling vehicle overall in the USA, the Cybertruck boasts impressive features such as a peak range of up to 547 km, top speeds of up to 209 kmph, and lightning-fast acceleration from 0 to 100 kmph in just 2.6 seconds.

Despite the challenges and controversies, the Tesla Cybertruck remains a symbol of innovation and forward-thinking design in the automotive industry. With its blend of cutting-edge technology, impressive performance, and celebrity endorsements, the Cybertruck continues to capture the imagination of consumers worldwide, paving the way for a future where electric vehicles dominate the roads.
