Prime Minister Narendra Modi called the interim Budget presented today by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman “historic” and said the “Viksit Bharat Budget” will benefit every section of the society, and lays the foundation for a developed India.

Finance Union minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the interim budget ahead of the Lok Sabha election on Thursday. This budget marks the sixth consecutive budget presented by Nirmala Sitharaman.

Narendra Modi praised the budget, called it “inclusive and innovative”, and said that it contains “confidence of continuity”. As it contains four pillars of Viksit Bharat – Yuva, Garib, Mahila and Kisan, the budget gives the guarantee of making India a developed nation by 2047, he said. Commenting on the budget”s scheme for youths, Modi said, “This budget has a reflection of the young aspirations of a young India. Two important decisions were made within the Budget. For research and innovation, a fund of Rs 1 Lakh Crore has been announced”.

He also added that with this economic stability, innumerable new job opportunities for the youth will be prepared. In the language of economists, the Prime minister referred to the budget as a “sweet pot”, as they were able to keep the fiscal deficit under control. He added that the budget stresses on empowerment of the poor and the middle class and the creation of new employment opportunities for them. ” It has been announced to construct 2 crore more houses for the poor. We aim to have 3 crore “Lakhpati Didis” now. ASHA and Aganwadi workers will also get the benefit of the Ayushman Bharat scheme,” he said.

Narendra Modi lauded the important decision taken in the budget for the upliftment of the farmers of our country, as they have decided to provide an income tax remission scheme that will provide relief to 1 crore people from the middle class. He also made his remark on the “Lakhpati didi” scheme which was initially targeted to make 2 crore women “lakhpati didi” is now increased to 3 crore.

“This Budget guarantees to strengthen the foundation of Viksit Bharat in 2047”, Narendra Modi praised. He also congratulated Nirmala Sitharaman and her team in his speech.
