IRCTC Partners With Swiggy For Delivery Of Pre-ordered Meals Through E-catering Portal

Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has tied up with Swiggy for supply and delivery of the pre-ordered mean through the IRCTC e-catering portal as a PoC (Proof of Concept). In the first phase, the online food ordering and delivery company would provide the services at four Railway stations. These include Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam railway stations.

As per reports, the eCatering service through M/s Bundl Technologies (Swiggy Foods) will be operational soon for the services. The services will be expanded to other stations too after the first stage of successful operation.

IRCTC had earlier partnered with Zomato, another food ordering and delivery firm providing its services at different selected railway stations.

However, as IRCTC is moving forward partnering more platforms to expand the food options to the customers, the food delivery companies will likely have a business boost. India has a significant number of railway passengers regularly, and hence the company is expecting a big gain from the deal.
