Markets Begin September On A High, A Turn From The Previous Lows

Nifty today closed at 19,435.30 at 181.50 points or 0.94% rise. The opening value for today, the last day of the week and the first day of the month was 19,258.15. Nifty high was at 19,458.55 and traded at a low at, 19,255.70.

Sensex wrapped up at 65,387.16, at 555.75 rise or at 0.86%.

The benchmark indices can be seen to have traded well, erasing the previous losses. The indices were all in green. The bulls have taken to charge. A bullish start for September adds positivity. The purchasing managers Index (PMI) has gone into a three-month high into 58.6 as on September 1, this along with the GDP values are positive for markets.

Nifty closed above 19,400, Sensex gain of 556 points or 0.86% can be seen. Both the indices have added close to a percentage each. The buying interest seems to have picked up. On the whole, the overall outlook for short term has turned positive. BSE midcap and smallcap, each rose up by 0.7%.  Metals and power are also in green. Auto, oil, gas and bank were up, by 1% to 2.7%. except for pharma sector, others traded in green.

The top gainers were NTPC, JioFin, ONGC, JSW Steel and Tata Steel. The top losers of Nifty were, CIPLA, HDFC LIFE, Dr. Reddys, Nestle and Ultra Tech Cement.
