Markets closed on a low, with Nifty at 19.386.70, down by 57.30 points (0.29%) and Sensex closed at 65.252.34, low by 180.96 points (0.28%).
Markets failed to hang on to the morning hype and ended subdued as investors resisted taking any chance, taking cues from global markets. Market analysts also points that weakness could continue.
Sectoral indices resonated with market sentiments. Auto, PSU banks, oil and gas, pharma and metal were low, while IT was up.
The Nifty top gainers are BPCL, Asian Paints, IndusInd Bank, Infosys and Britannia while the top losers were JFSL, Reliance, Divi’s Lab, Power Grid and ONGC.
