Both Nifty and Sensex traded in green. Getting an overall, today, it’s a flat closing.
Yesterday saw a pick up at the indices, bringing a better start to the week from what was before. The charts showed only a narrow movement, it’s a better movement, even when the strength is in question.
To the figures for today, Nifty at close was at 19,396, up by 0.01% or 2.85 points. The opening was at 19417, with a high of 19443 and a low at 19381.
Nifty opened positive, though activity was kept wavering, not being able to pick up the gains of the last session, keeping close to resistance. This was despite the positive global markets. For now, nifty seems to be keeping to a bandwidth which it needs to break, to overcome the resistance and move above.
For Sensex, it was up by 3.94 points at 65199 or 0.01%.
Sector wise, IT performed muted, PSU banks slow, while FMCG, metal and auto found buyers. Both the mid-caps and small- caps edged higher today too.
The gainers on Nifty were Adani enterprises, HDFC life, ITC, NTPC and Hero MotoCorp, the losers were BPCL, Cipla, Bajaj Finserv, TCS and Eicher Motors.
In the rupee-dollar rally, the rupee stands 18 paise higher at 82.93.
