Shaadi.com founder Anupam Mittal recently shared his remarkable journey revealing his ups and downs through a LinkedIn post. He opened up his route to become a multi-millionaire in his early 20s but eventually lost his fortune a couple of years later. Mittal emphasised that he touched the zenith of success in the initial stage and witnessed huge success at MicroStrategy adding a value of $40 billion to the company.
He stated that he subsequently fell into deep pits following his heavy debts due to the dot com bubble burst (stock market bubble) causing many tech companies to initiate new plans. Mittal wasn’t ready to jinx, as he took this opportunity to rebuild his career by opening the doors of a new venture through all his remaining resources and become successful once again in his career.

His determination to chase his goals has been expressed in his write-up saying that he didn’t want to give up and he returned to India in 2003 to recreate everything from scratch. He took a risky yet hopeful decision to invest his remaining asset as he dares to head up facing failure in his all ways. He set up another venture ‘Shaadi.com’ purchasing the domain at $25000 and he had only $30,000 left to shape it. He wrote that people even questioned his business sense and that the move seemed difficult. However, he took it as a challenge and continued his journey with optimism.
His idea was spot on and proved that he is capable to rebuild his career and garner his lost assets despite criticism. reflecting on his inspiring journey, Mittal stated that it was not about the money but the courage to rise from the ashes and to build your dream from scratch. He highlighted that entrepreneurship shouldn’t be tied up on a single venture or endeavour but it should always be ready with a backup plan.
