CM Mamata Banerjee Asks Party Workers To Stay Vigilant Till Counting Ends; Fears Tempering
West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee has posted a video titled “Urgent Message” today, on May 4, 2026, the day the West Bengal Assembly election votes are being counted.
In the 92-second clip, she speaks emphatically to the camera with namaste gestures and a raised hand, likely urging party workers to stay alert at counting centers amid her prior claims of EVM tampering and irregularities.

As per the recent trends and vote count record by the ECI, the BJP is clearly seen running ahead on 189 seats, while the AITC has fallen behind on 95 seats. Similarly, the BJP has secured a lead on 79 seats in Assam, while the INC is at 24 seats.
Notably, several rounds of vote counting have been done for various assemblies, and the counting is still going on.
The West Bengal’s CM has fiercely opposed the SIR drive in the state and also raised issues agains EVM tempering to manipulate elections.
Following the trends of votes today, she has asked her party workers to stay alert and do not leave the booths till the counting ends.
