Calicut University Campus is buzzing with energy as it hosts its much-awaited carnival which will be held till January 15, 2025. Organised by AIKYA, the Calicut University Students’ Union, the three-day event promises an electrifying mix of culture, entertainment, and fun, open to all students and faculty with free entry.
The festivities will be kicked off with a grand inauguration by MP Abdussamad Samadani and VT Balram at the ‘Students’ Trap’ on the 13th, followed by an exhilarating band performance by students. Vibrant decorations and banners set the tone for the carnival, which features a plethora of activities catering to diverse interests.
The international film festival is a major highlight, showcasing films from around the globe. The Saudi Arabian film Wajida was screened on the 13th at the Gaza Screen, with additional screenings scheduled for the 14th and 15th at Aryabhata Hall (Rafa Screen) and Gaza Screen.
Music lovers can enjoy a variety of performances, including a street academic band on the 13th, MN Saki’s musical evening on the 14th, and the U-Turn Project band on the 15th. Adding a traditional touch, Rashid Mongam will perform Mappilapattu on the 14th.
Other exciting events include an auto show, sports games, a body show, fun games, and workshops. Fashion enthusiasts can enjoy a glamorous fashion show, while competitive spirits can participate in numerous competitions. The carnival concludes each night with lively mass events.
