IIT Bombay Trust Lab’s Capture The Flag Brought To Hyderabad And Pune

HSBC Technology India in collaboration with IIT Bombay Trust Lab is to bring the 2024 regional edition of the Trust Lab CTF series to Hyderabad and Pune. The thrill of ethical hacking tournament is opened for registration with participants encouraged to sign up before the extended deadline on 7 February 2024.

The competition will unfold in two rounds. The opening volley is a nationwide online screening round to be held in mid-February, for contestants from any corner of India. After qualifying first round the teams will proceed to the grand finale in early March, on-site at the two cities.

Capture the Flag (CTF) competitions are the hacking world”s equivalent of an adventurer”s treasure hunt, blended with the adrenaline rush of an FBI chase. Computer code is the preferred weapon in these high-stakes games of cyberattack and defense, as players compete to break into weak systems, decrypt information, and examine digital evidence in an effort to overcome obstacles and seize virtual “flags.”

In contrast to classroom learning, CTF contests promise to parachute participants into realistic hacking scenarios filled with twists, turns and formidable adversaries. The game requires not just technical brilliance but creative problem-solving, teamwork. They can crack cryptic clues, bypass cyber traps and beat opponents to nab flags under the pressure of the clock ticking.

“HSBC”s innovation strategy in the markets is to partnering with top academic schools and leveraging young talent to pursue ideas. This provides the chance for participants to earn well-deserved recognition and explore potential career opportunities with HSBC Technology India, one of the world”s leading banking and financial services organisations.

Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, set up in 1958 as the second IIT, is recognised worldwide as a leader in the field of engineering education and research. The Institute was granted the status of “Institution of Eminence” by the Ministry of Education (the then Ministry of Human Resources Development) on July 9, 2018.
