The University Polytechnic, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) signed a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Carrier India to establish a ‘Centre of Excellence for Professional Skill Development’. This initiative, a part of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) undertaking by Carrier India in collaboration with United Way of India, marks a transformative milestone for the University Polytechnic.
The MOU was signed in a formal ceremony at the Vice Chancellor’s office and was attended by esteemed officials from JMI and representatives from Carrier India and United Way of India, including Mr. Sundresan Narayanan, Managing Director, Carrier India, Mr. Sanjay Sharma, Director-Growth Initiative, Carrier India, Mr. Karan Sobti, Director-Marketing, Carrier India and Dr. Sujeet Ranjan, CEO, United Way of India.
Vice-Chancellor Jamia Millia Islamia, Prof. Mazhar Asif, and Registrar JMI, Prof. Md. Mahtab Alam Rizvi lauded the initiative and commended the efforts of the University Polytechnic for its dedication towards fostering academia-industry collaboration.
Dr. M. A. Khan, Principal, University Polytechnic said that the proposed centre of excellence will go a long way in providing cutting-edge skill development opportunities to students, empowering them with practical knowledge and industry-ready capabilities. He expressed his gratitude to Carrier India and United Way of India for their stellar support and hoped that this initiative will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between academia and industry and in setting new benchmarks in skill development for students of the University Polytechnic.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Sundresan Narayanan emphasized Carrier India’s commitment to contributing to India’s education and skill development landscape through impactful CSR initiatives. Similarly, Dr. Sujeet Ranjan reaffirmed United Way of India’s dedication to enabling inclusive growth through strategic partnerships.
