NEET UG 2024 Exam Today: Here Is What To Know

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Under Graduate (NEET UG) 2024 exam will be conducted today on May 5th. The National Testing Agency (NTA) will contest the exam at 2pm to 5:20 pm in 557 cities across India and 14 cities abroad. The exam will be held for over 24 lakh aspiring medical students for over 1 lakh MBBS seat. Among the 24 lakh, 10 lakh are male and 13 lakh are female candidates. 24 students have registered under the “third gender” category. The result of the exam will be released on June 14.

The exam comprises of four subjects with two section for each. Section A will have 35 questions and Section B will have 15 questions, of which the students can do any 10. The candidates will have to carry their hall ticket to be able to attend the exam. The hall ticket is available at the official website of NTA, exams.nta.ac.in/NEET. The hall ticket should clearly display the photograph, signature and roll number of the candidate.

Things to keep in mind:

1. Entry time: The reporting time for the exam centre is 11:30 am. The last entry into the exam hall would be 1:30 pm, half an hour before the starting of the exam. After 1:30pm, the candidates will not be allowed to enter the exam hall.

2. No bio-breaks will be allowed during the first one hour and the last half an hour of the exam.

3. Apart from the biometric test and frisking at the beginning, Candidates will be frisked and biometric attendance will be taken again on bio-breaks or toilet breaks.

4. The aspirants should be dressed casually for the exam. Clothing with long sleeves and shoes are not allowed. Slippers and scandals are allowed.

Only the following are allowed to take into the exam hall:

1. NEET UG admit card along with self declaration or the undertaking. A postcard size photograph should be affixed on the page 2 of the downloaded admit card.

2. A valid ID Proof, preferably aadhaar card, e-aadhaar, ration card, aadhaar enrolment number with photo, PAN card, driving license or voter ID. Passport or class 12the registration card with phot will also be allowed, only in the case of unavailability of the any others.

3. Any other forms of ID or the photocopies of the ID, even with photos will not be considered valid.

4. Additional photo, same as the one uploaded on the NEET UG application form has to be pasted on the attendance sheet.

NTA urged all aspirants to keep away from any forms of unfair practices during the exam. The agency adopted zero tolerance policy towards cheating and has introduced robust measures to prevent any attempts of cheating. Multi-stage biometric authentication for both candidates and invigilation staff, surprise visits by flying squads, utilization of AI tools to identify discrepancies in candidates’ application details, and thorough invigilation supervision are measures implemented by the NTA.
