The central government decided to hold the NEET UG – 2024 re-examination over the NEET paper leak row. The decision came after the Supreme Court intervention following the allegations of irregularities and giving unfair grace marks. The candidates will have the option to either retake the exam or forego the marks given to them for the loss of time.

Notably, the counseling for admission into MBBS, BDS, and other courses will take place from July 6 onwards. Several petitions were filed to stay on the NEET counseling which the court denied. The allegation of question paper leak and grace marks led to the filing of lawsuits in seven High Courts and the Supreme Court.
