As protests rocked across the country, the police had arrested four men from Bihar in connection with the allegations. The arrested reportedly admitted that they received the question paper a day before the exam.
Notably in a confession letter, one of the arrested, Anurag Yadav said that his uncle, Sikandar Prasad Yadavendu, informed him that all preparations for the exam had been done. Anurag Yadav’s uncle is an engineer deployed at Bihar’s Danapur Town Council (Danapur Nagar Parishad) who is also one among those arrested from the state.

Anurag Yadav said that he was made to read and memorise it at night. When I went for the exam, I found the same questions which I had memorized correctly. After the exam, the police came and caught me, and I confessed my crime.”
Yadavendu added that the other two accused, Nitish Kumar and Amit Anand, told him that they could leak the question paper of any competitive exam for Rs 30-32 lakh for each aspirant to clear NEET. He also revealed that he received the leaked question paper as well as the answers of the NEET.
Notably, Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan had last week rejected the allegations saying there was no evidence of any rigging, and accusing the opposition of spreading lies about the NEET exam.
The opposition parties have joined the students in raising their concerns, calling for the cancellation and demanding accountability. The Supreme Court had on June 18 slammed the National Testing Agency saying that the examination authority must ensure that all candidates are treated fairly.
However, a vacation bench of the apex court is set to hear a batch of petitions regarding the irregularities on June 20. The Supreme Court will also hear a batch of pleas on grounds of question paper leak and related incidents.
