Gujarat: Woman AAP Leader Found Hanging; Family Alleges Murder By Live-In Partner
Rajkot, Gujarat: A 23-year-old woman, identified as Nandani Bosamiya, was found hanging in a flat at Agaman City near Gondal Chowkdi in Gujarat’s Rajkot. The family of the woman has alleged that she was murdered and the incident was staged as a suicide, triggering a major controversy surrounding the death.
Before her death, Nandani, a native of Jetpur, had reportedly posted a message on social media claiming that she was driven to the edge by harassment from her live-in partner. She had started living together with Aslam Hussain Sama, a married man she had met and entered into a relationship while living in a rented house in Junagadh.
Both the families had opposition to their live-in-relationship. Family members alleged that Nandani had repeatedly informed them about the mental and physical harassment she faced from Aslam. Nandani’s father accused Aslam of murdering his daughter and hanging her body to make it appear as suicide. He claimed that when the family reached the flat, the main door was not locked and the balcony door was also open, raising suspicions about the circumstances surrounding her death.
Before her death, Nandani reportedly shared a heartbreaking message on social media saying, “Dad, I lost the battle with life.” In her final messages, she alleged that Aslam had pawned her gold and silver jewellery and had made her life miserable.

Nandani’s younger sister also made serious allegations against Aslam, claiming he subjected her to extreme mental and physical abuse, and added that Nandani underwent a surgery to remove her uterus after being told that children were not wanted.
The family also alleged that Nandani had planned to leave the relationship, live independently and start a new life. Rajkot Taluka Police have recorded the family’s statement and initiated an investigation. A forensic post-mortem examination has been ordered, and further legal action will depend on the medical findings.
Nandani had contested the municipal elections last year as a candidate of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
