New Committee Formed For Wafy Alumni Association - Arm Of Co-ordination of Islamic Colleges

A new committee has been elected for the Wafy Alumni Association (WAA), the official alumni body composed of all Wafy graduates from all institutions under the Co-ordination of Islamic Colleges (CIC). A distinguished name in the higher education landscape, Wafy-Wafiyya courses, under the CIC umbrella, offer a unique combination of spiritual and temporal education for boys and girls, respectively.

The annual council meeting of the association, held in Malappuram on July 17, designated Dr Ayyub Wafy as the new president of the association. The meeting elected Anwar Wafy Kakkadampuram as the general secretary,  Shafeeq Wafy Odamala as working secretary and Dr Jaleel Wafy as the treasurer of the association.

Dr. Ayyub Wafy, a PhD holder in West Asian Studies from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), is currently the department head at Wafy PG campus, Kalikavu. Dr. Jaleel Wafy is a professor with a doctoral degree from Al Azhar University, Cairo.

In addition, there are three vice presidents and joint secretaries among the executive heads of the organisation.

The founder and general secretary of CIC, Professor Abdul Hakeem Faizy Adrisseri, inaugurated the annual council meeting that hand-picked new office bearers for the alumni.

The association, which came into existence in 2016, works by integrating and building a vibrant Wafy alumni worldwide. The alumni have been engaged in various educational, social and community empowerment programs. Moreover, the Social Empowerment Mission (SEM), a social development and community empowerment arm of the association, has been working on various projects to foster positive change and community empowerment in the society.

A member of the Islamic Universities League, the CIC Offers Wafi-Wafiyya arts and professional courses to students after they complete their SSLC.

Graduates from over 60 affiliated colleges in Kerala and Karnataka under the body are spread across the world, making meaningful contributions to various spheres. Alumni members are also pursuing higher education in the esteemed international institutions.
