Malappuram, Kerala: Irshad Ali, a 29-year-old native of Kalikavu in Kerala’s Malappuram district, has a captivating story that could kindle the spark of inspiration to millions of young aspirants about dreaming big and not giving up. The journey of struggle to pursue his dream career goal amid immense financial hardships finally found fruit, transitioning him from a daily wage labourer to an Ayurveda doctor and now securing admission to pursue his MBBS degree by becoming a NEET second-rank holder.

Amid all the rustle and bustle of his run to find financial means, Irshad’s determination to pursue his career pushed him to the top of India’s prestigious medical exam, fighting all odds with his extraordinary will. Despite being an average student during his school days, Irshad’s firm purpose and strong resolve backed by intense wish pushed him ahead amid all constraints.

Notably, what makes the achievement even special is that Irshad did all this amid severe economic hardships, so much so that he had to do various intense manual jobs, including selling ice cream, sand mining, hotel work, construction labor, and making cement blocks during his studies.
Son of Abdul Azeez (who runs a small roadside eatery) and Khairunnisa, Irshad initially became an Ayurveda doctor by working as a daily wage labourer, and is now stepping into pursuing an MBBS degree, once again relying on his own efforts to support his education.

Irshad started working during his Plus Two days by selling ice cream, and later did several jobs including sand mining, hotel jobs, construction work, and making cement blocks. By funding his own education, Irshad continued his education, securing an Ayurveda medical degree in his first attempt. He later dreamed of further moving his career forward by pursuing MBBS.
To meet his MBBS expenses, he once again returned to the path of hard work, doing several businesses, including selling oil products and making pickles. He joined NEET coaching in Kozhikode, attending only two or three classes a week and dedicating the remaining time to self-study, finally realising his dream slot in Kozhikode Medical College.
