The Delhi police officials and bomb disposal squad are conducting search operations as the five schools in Delhi and 1 in Delhi-NCR received bomb threats via email. Sanskrit School in Chanakyapuri, Mother Mary School at Mayur Vihar in east Delhi, and Delhi Public School (DPS) at Dwarka are three schools identified among those that received bomb threats. As per the reports, the school administration received the email on Wednesday morning.
The school authorities took quick cognisant of the security of the children and informed the police and parents after receiving the email. In an email sent to parents, DPS authorities informed them about the email that threatened the safety and security of the students. The school authorities sent the children home immediately to ensure their safety.
Reportedly, the bomb detection team, bomb disposal squad, and officials of Delhi Fire Service rushed to the schools and started searching however no suspicious article has been found yet.
According to the Mirror Now reports, the schools in Delhi NCR schools also received bomb threat emails. 1 school in Noida has also received an email from the same user. As per the report, nearly 536 bomb threat emails were sent to multiple people and organizations with several names included in them.
The news has caused panic among the parents and school authorities. Parents have rushed to the schools to pick up their wards. The police authorities have restricted the movement around the school premises. Several search committees have been formed by the police in order the conduct the operation.
AAP leader Atishi, who is also the education minister under the Delhi government took to “X” asking parents and citizens to not to get panic. Atishi said that the education department is in constant touch with the police and school administration. The school authorities will inform parents upon any further development concerning the safety and security of the children, she added.
Some schools have received bomb threats today morning. Students have been evacuated and those premises are being searched by Delhi Police. So far nothing has been found in any of the schools.
