ACP Manasvi Vashistha, Who Led Protest Outside Delhi Police HQ, Suspended
New Delhi: Amid police protest against departmental action, Delhi police on Tuesday, November 3, suspended Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Manasvi Vashistha.
Vashistha was leading the protest outside Delhi police headquarters opposing the departmental transfer of two senior officers including Vashistha and Shahdara Station House Officer (SHO) Inspector Arun Kumar.
After an advocate named Lalit Bansal allegedly suffered a serious head injury during a confrontation inside the Shahdara police station, District court lawyers launched an indefinite strike demanding strict action and the removal of the police officers involved.
Following the strike, Delhi Police transferred ACP Vashistha (to SPUWAC) and SHO Arun Kumar on October 28, 2026, prompting the lawyers to call off their strike.
The police personnel viewed the transfers as a surrender to pressure and a failure of senior management to back the force. The police officers then gathered outside Gate No. 1 of the headquarters to protest against the transfer and demanding the rollback of the order.
