The Mathematics and Biology Question Papers of the Uttar Pradesh Board Class 12 exam, conducted in the second shift, were allegedly shared on a WhatsApp group nearly an hour after the examination began.
The question paper was allegedly shared on the WhatsApp group ‘All Principals Agra’ by the son of a principal. An FIR has been registered in Fatehpur Sikri, against the Principal of Atar Singh Inter College in Rajhauli, his son, and others.
Mukesh Agrawal, Joint Director of Secondary Education Department informed that a committee has been formed to probe the matter and officials are directed to take necessary legal actions against those who are behind this.
However, Deepak Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary (Secondary Education), and Dibyakant Shukla, UP Board Secretary have denied the allegation of the paper leak as the paper was shared around 3:15 PM and the paper started at 2 PM. Board Secretary Dibyakant Shukla said, “If a paper is floated on WhatsApp after an hour of the commencement of the exam, how can this be termed as ‘leak’”. Nevertheless, the probe is still going on and necessary actions will be taken against the guilty, he said.
UP Board has pushed harder to conduct the board exams fairly and transparently. During an inspection of seven centers of Prayagraj, eight invigilators and five center administrators were removed for not following the due procedure. A recommendation has been made to take legal action against them. Five impersonators, from Shahjhanpur, Pratapgarh, and Azamgarh were also caught. An FIR has been lodged against all of them.
Also, nearly 2.42 lakh candidates skipped the high school Science, Intermediate Mathematics and Biology Examination.
