Bihar Election Results: Will Sanjeev Kumar Retain This Seat For RJD?

The Parbatta assembly constituency in Bihar has a competitive electoral history, with the Janata Dal (United) (JD(U)) and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) being the dominant parties in recent years. In the 2020 assembly elections, Doctor Sanjeev Kumar of JD(U) won the seat by defeating Digambar Prasad Tiwary of RJD by a narrow margin of 951 votes.
The constituency has seen close contests, with JD(U) and RJD alternating as winners in previous elections, including RJD’s victory in 2010 and JD(U) wins in 2015 and 2020.
The contest is described as a triangular battle, with all three candidates representing major regional parties and drawing significant voter attention. Babulal Shorya is a new face in the constituency, while Doctor Sanjeev Kumar is the incumbent MLA seeking re-election. Vinay Kumar Varun is Prasanth Kishor’s chosen candidate, aiming to reclaim the seat for his party.
Historically, Parbatta has seen representation from Congress, BJP, and Communist parties, but since 2005, the seat has been dominated by JD(U) and RJD. The constituency is part of Khagaria district and falls under the Khagaria Lok Sabha seat, which was won by Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
