Amidst the ongoing Lok Sabha election, with the election campaigning heating up, the Congress party, after sharing videos, has today alleged an attack on a journalist from a rally in Rae Bareli, Uttar Pradesh. The party wrote on X that the saffron party is frustrated with the defeat that is visible. The grand old party alleged that a woman who took part in the rally said to a journalist that they were bought by paying them money.

“The journalist recorded this. After this, BJP goons caught the journalist and asked him to delete the video,” Congress added.

When the journalist refused to delete the video, he was taken to a room behind the stage and beaten up badly, the party claimed. They also alleged that the journalist was pick-pocketed by the BJP goons.

The BJP goons recently vandalized the vehicles parked outside the Congress office in Amethi and attacked Congress workers.

These incidents are telling that the people of BJP are frustrated with the defeat that is visible. Now the injustice is about to end,” the post concluded.

The Congress has also shared the video of the injured journalist at the hospital receiving medical attention along with the post.

In a separate social media post, Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi has revealed the details of the journalist who was allegedly attacked.

“In Raebareli, Raghav Trivedi, a journalist from the @moliticsindia was brutally beaten up by BJP men at the Home Minister”s rally. The Home Minister kept giving his speech while the police kept watching as a mute spectator. The journalist was beaten up only because he had spoken to some women who were saying that they were paid money to attend the rally,” she wrote on X.

“The BJP, which has silenced the entire media of the country, cannot tolerate that any voice is raised against them. The BJP, which is running a campaign to abolish the Constitution, wants to end democracy in this country and snatch away the voice of the people,” the Congress leader added.

The high-stakes campaign for phase four of the Lok Sabha elections came to a close on Saturday amidst scorching heatwave conditions across various regions.
