Defeating BJP candidate and incumbent MLA Subhash Sudha, Congress’s Ashok Arora has emerged victorious in Haryana’s Thanesar Constituency. Subhash Sudha had been representing the constituency since 2014.
The Congress candidate won Thanesar by a margin of 3243. However, as counting for the 99-member assembly seats ended, the BJP has won 48 seats, assuring a hattrick victory. The Congress, which expected a return after a decades, trailed behind winning only 37 seats. The result also appeared opposite to what the exit polls suggested.
The Congress party has, notably, refused to accept the result, alleging unfair practices, EVM manipulations and mind game.
