“Why Use Govt. Platform To Attack Opposition?”: Pawan Khera Questions PM Modi

Congress leader Pawan Khera criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday for allegedly using a government event to make a political speech attacking the Congress.

While laying the foundation stone of several development projects in Maharashtra worth over Rs 7,600 crore virtually, PM Modi accused the Congress of dividing the Hindu society for political gains.

His remarks came following the election results of Haryana, where the saffron party, in a surprising twist, became the first party in the state’s history to form the government for the third consecutive time.

“The policy of Congress is to make one caste of Hindus fight against another caste. Congress knows that the more Hindus get divided, the more it will benefit. Congress wants to keep the Hindu society on fire by any means to make political gains out of it. Wherever elections are held in India, Congress applies this formula,” said PM Modi.

Responding to the same, Pawan Khera questioned why PM Modi was using a government platform to make political statements.

“Why should the @PMOIndia use a govt platform and a govt program to make a political speech and attack the opposition? Tax payers’ money cannot and should not be used to indulge in a political speech? For that, he can use the BJP’s platform,” he stated in an X post.

PM Modi went on a tirade against Congress, accusing them of trying to mislead the public, including Dalits, by “snatching away their reservation,” farmers, and youth, which they failed at. He also accused the party of corruption during their rule, which took place at the “same pace and on the same scale” as development in current times.

The BJP government secured a hat-trick, defying exit poll predictions that foresaw a comfortable win for the Congress party in Haryana. As the counting for the 90-member assembly ended by Tuesday evening, the BJP emerged victorious, securing 48 seats while the Congress trailed behind with 37. The INLD received two, and the independents three assembly seats.
