PM Modi Hails Young Innovators, Takes '56-Year-Old' Jibe At Rahul Gandhi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said the government’s reform-driven approach has inspired India’s youth to innovate and achieve global milestones, citing the successful launch of Skyroot Aerospace’s Vikram-1 rocket as an example of the country’s growing startup ecosystem.
Addressing the media ahead of the Monsoon Session of Parliament, Modi said India had boarded the “Reform Express” and that continuous reforms had encouraged young entrepreneurs to dream big and deliver world-class achievements.

Highlighting the success of Hyderabad-based space startup Skyroot Aerospace, the Prime Minister said the launch of India’s first privately developed orbital-class rocket reflected the talent and determination of the country’s young innovators.

“India’s youth have begun a new journey into space. I have been told that the average age of the entire Skyroot team is only 28 years.
It is these young innovators who have achieved this milestone. I am not talking about some 56-year-old young man,” Modi said, in an apparent swipe at Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi.
The Vikram-1 Test Flight-1 mission successfully placed its payload into a nearly 450-km orbit, marking a major milestone for India’s private space sector. The achievement makes India one of the few countries to demonstrate private orbital launch capability.
Modi also expressed confidence that the Monsoon Session of Parliament, which began on Monday, would be productive and contribute to the country’s development.
He said just as the southwest monsoon benefits farmers, a productive Parliament benefits the nation through meaningful discussions and reforms.
The Monsoon Session will continue until August 13, with the government expected to introduce several key Bills, including amendments related to the Supreme Court and the Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act.
