Congress gives five guarantees to country’s youth Including one year internship after graduation

Banswara, Rajasthan, March 7: Congress party today announced five guarantees for the country’s youth including the right to compulsory one year apprenticeship immediately after graduation or the diploma.

Addressing a public rally on the fifty fourth day of the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra here today, Cong President Mallikarjun Kharge and former president Rahul Gandhi announced ‘Bharrti Bharosa’ (Recruitment Guarantee), Pehli Naukri Pakki (guaranteed one year apprenticeship immediately after completely graduation/diploma), ‘paper leak se mukti’ (new law against leaking of papers), ‘gig economy mein samajik suraksha’ (social security for gig workers) and ‘yuva roshni’ (creating Rs 5000 crores corpus fund for start ups).

Elaborating upon these guarantees, Rahul Gandhi said, once the Congress government is formed, it will immediately fill 30 lakh vacancies which are lying vacant for a long time and which Prime Minister Narendra Modi is not filling. The recruitments will be made according to the regularly published job calendar so that there is no unnecessary delay in recruitments.

Under the ‘Pehli naukri pakki’ guarantee, Gandhi said, their government will guarantee a one-year apprenticeship and bring in a law, Right to Apprenticeship Act for this. This will enable the youth who complete their degrees or diplomas to get one year apprenticeship with a private or a public sector company with Rs one lakh for one year. This, he pointed out, will be the first job for the youth after education, which will be guaranteed.

The former Congress president said, in order to curb the curse of frequent paper leaks for various competitive exams, his party guarantees new laws to ensure the highest standards of integrity and fairness in the conduct of public examinations. “We will prevent paper leaks from destroying the future of crores of youth”, he asserted.

On gig workers like those operating cabs, or delivering goods to people’s homes, he said, the Congress government will bring a legislation to ensure better working conditions and social security for lakhs and lakhs of youth who seek employment every year in the gig economy.

In order to encourage entrepreneurship among the youth, the Congress government will create a Rs. 5,000 crore corpus fund for each district, with allotments spread across all districts of the country for a period of five years. Youth below the age of 40 years can avail start-up funding for their business enterprises in any sector, he added.

Addressing the rally, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge said that his party delivers what it promises. He said, the five guarantees announced today are in addition to the two earlier guarantees of caste census and legal guarantee for the MSP.

Taking a dig at the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said, his guarantees are always fake, while pointing out how he befooled and misled the people of the country by promising two crore jobs every year and Rs 15 lakh in their bank deposits.

He lashed out at the Assam Chief Minister Hemant Biswa Sarma’s recent statement where he had said that it was the duty of the “Shudras” to serve some particular castes. He observed, this was the mindset of the BJP and the RSS. He pointed out, it was the same mindset that made a BJP leader urinate on the face of an Adivasi youth.

Similarly he added, the same BJP with the same mindset did not let President Draupadi Murmu into the Ram Temple, just because she was an Adivasi. “Why didn’t you let her into the Ram Temple?” he asked the BJP, while remarking, they (the BJP and the RSS) would think this will make it impure as such is their mindset. He pointed out, President Murmu was not even invited for the inauguration of the new parliament building.

Similarly, he added, when the foundation stone of the new parliament building was laid down, the then President Ram Nath Kovind was also not allowed to lay down the foundation stone as he happened to be a Dalit.

Kharge took a dig at Prime Minister Modi for often asking what the Congress had done for the country. He listed the achievements of the Congress party governments led by Pandit Nehru, Lal Bahadur Shastri, Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi and challenged Modi to list one single achievement.

Among those present on the occasion included Jairam Ramesh, Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, Digvijaya Singh, Sachin Pilot, Govind Singh Dotasra, Tika Ram Jooli, Jitu Patwari, Umang Singhar and others.
