The BJP has fielded Vinod Rao Tandra to run for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections from Khammam Lok Sabha constituency in phase 4. Ramasahayam Raghuram Reddy is the Congress candidate and Nama Nageswara Rao is the BRS (earlier TRS) candidate from the Khammam Lok Sabha Constituency.
Vinod Rao Tandra
The Khammam BJP candidate Vinod Rao Tandra is an industrialist with over 2 decades of experience in the real estate sector. Tandra has been associated with social work through the Ekalavya Foundation since 2015. He has also served as a member of the Central Board of Film Certification, Hyderabad (2012-14). Vinod Rao is an RSS-backed activist from the Velama community who was strongly endorsed by the RSS to get the party ticket from Khammam. However, the party was considering a candidate from the Kamma community in the constituency.
While campaigning for the polls he appealed to voters for a single chance and claimed to be the son of the land who understands the basic problems of the constituency completely.

The Khammam constituency is one of the 17th Lok Sabha constituencies of Telangana. It comprises: Khammam, palair, Madhira, Wyra, Sathupalli, Kothadudam and Aswaraopeta assembly regions.
Khammam Lok Sabha Constituency is an ST-category parliament seat. It comprises part of Khammam district and part of Warangal district. ST community forms a significant proportion of 36.7% of its total population. Whereas, SC and Muslims constitute 12.9% and 4% of the total population of the Khammam constituency. The Literacy rate of the constituency is 58.58% and the rural to-urban population is 88.29% and 11.8% respectively. A total of 1424385 voters will vote in the upcoming phase of the Lok Sabha election in the Khammam constituency.

Nama Nageswr Rao of the TRS (BRS) won the Khammam constituency in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections securing 567459 votes (37%) while Congress candidate Renuka Chowdhury remained at the second position by securing 399397 (26%) of the total votes cast in the elections. The total voter turnout in the constituency was 75%.
In the last state assembly elections, Congress secured 6 out of the 7 assembly seats and one seat by CPI. Earlier Congress party leaders won the parliament seat many times consecutively however since 2009, regional parties are sending their candidates to the parliament from Khammam constituency.
