Gopalganj Elections Results: Will BJP Retain Its Seat Again?
The major contenders from Gopalganj include Subhash Singh from the BJP, Om Prakash Garg from the INC, and Indira Yadav from BSP. Voting in Gopalganj took place on 6 November 2025 under phase 1.
Counting of votes will begin at 8 am, and early trends are expected to emerge shortly thereafter from centres across Bihar.
In 2020, Assembly Elections, Subhash Singh from the BJP won the seat with 55.03% of the votes, defeating BSP candidate Anirudha Prasad, Also Known as Sadhu Yadav. Since 2005, the BJP has retained its stronghold on the Gopalganj seat.
This year’s electoral fight in Bihar is expected to be tough between the NDA government and the Grand Alliance, also known as the Mahagathabandhan. The alliance consists of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Indian National Congress (INC), and Left Parties, including Communist Party of India (CPI), CPIML, CPIM, and Indian Inclusive Party (IIP) with Tejashwi Yadav as the chairperson.
The literacy rate of Gopalganj district is 53.98% out of which 62.63% males are literate and 45.51% females are literate. There are 12.49% Scheduled Caste (SC) and 2.37% Scheduled Tribe (ST) of total population in Gopalganj district.
