Mukesh Sharma of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has won with a significant margin in the Haryana assembly election 2024, securing 122,615 votes. His closest independent competitor Naveen Goyal, received 54,570 votes trailing behind by 68,045 votes and the Congress candidate Mohit Grover lost 75.668 votes. Mukesh Sharma previously held notable positions including being elected to the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council and serving as president of Lucknow Mahanagar.
Gurgaon district is crucial in the Haryana Assembly elections with approximately 1.5 million voters and four assembly seats: Gurgaon, Pataudi, Badshahpur, and Sohna. According to the Election Commission, Gurgaon witnessed a low voter turnout which was only 57.96% on election day. Haryana Assembly elections have 1,031 candidates in the fray including 101 women and 464 independent election candidates.

This time, the BJP has fielded Mukesh Sharma against Congress Party’s Mohit Grover while Nishant Anand is contesting on behalf of the Aam Aadmi Party. Gurgaon has nearly 4.4 lakh voters and it is the second-largest constituency in Haryana. The contest between the BJP and Congress has been a neck-to-neck battle and remained fierce in the seats.
