Jarnail Singh of the Congress party won the Ratia constituency of Haryana in the 2024 assembly election with a margin of 21,442 votes.
Through this, Congress has secured its first win in the constituency as the candidate bagged a total of 86,426 votes. Whereas, the independent candidate Sunita Duggal secured a total of 64,984 votes.

In the 2019 Haryana Assembly elections, Lakshman Napa of the BJP won this seat, defeating Jarnail Singh of the INC by a margin of 1,216, which was 00.77% of the total votes cast for the seat. The BJP had a vote share of 34.97% in 2019 in this seat.
In the 2014 Haryana Assembly elections, Prof. Ravinder Baliala of INLD won this seat, defeating Sunita Duggal of the BJP by a margin of 453, which was 0.29% of the total votes cast for the seat. INLD had a vote share of 32.43% in 2014 in this seat.

In the 2009 Haryana Assembly elections, Gian Chand of INLD won in this seat, defeating Jarnail Singh of INC by a margin of 3,382, which was 2.68% of the total votes cast for the seat. INLD had a vote share of 39.71% in 2009 in this seat.
