Defeating both the BJP and Congress, independent candidate Devender Kadyan emerged victorious in the Ganaur assembly constituency. Kadyan secured the seat with a significant margin of 35,209 votes. While he won 77,248 votes, Congress candidate Kuldip Sharma came in second with 42,039 votes.
The BJP candidate Devender Kaushik secured 17,605 votes.
Part of the Sonipat district, Ganaur has changed parties every election. In 2009, Sharma secured the seat defeating INLD candidate Krishan Gopal Tyagi by a margin of 10,036 votes. He secured a second term in 2014 by defeating INLD’s Nirmal Rani by a margin of 7,543 votes.
However, Ganaur chose Rani who fought under the BJP banner in the 2019 assembly elections. Rani defeated Sharma by a margin of 10,280 votes.
A total of 11 candidates contested for the Ganaur Assembly seat including Anil Kumar (JJP), Ankur Kaushik (IND), Devender Singh (IND), Kavita (IND), Nar Singh (BSP), Ram Kumar (IND), Ram Mehar Singh (IND), Saroj Bala (AAP), Takdeer (IND).
