Kalayat Election Results: Congress’ Vikas Saharan Wins (image-Facebook/Vikash Saharan)

Congress candidate Vikas Saharan secured victory in Haryana’s Kalayat assembly constituency, defeating BJP leader and incumbent MLA Kamlesh Dhanda. While Dhanda won 34,723 votes, Saharan secured 48,142 votes. The voting margin is 13,419 votes.

Dhanda won the assembly seat in the 2019 elections defeating Congress’ Jai Prakash by a margin of 8,974 votes.

In the 2014 elections, Prakash of IND won the assembly seat defeating Ram Pal Majra of INLD by a margin of 8,390 votes. Majra had won the seat by defeating Congress Tejander Pal Singh by a margin of 9,400 votes.

A total of 14 candidates were in the fray for the Kalayat Assembly seat in the 2024 Haryana Assembly election: Anita Dhull Badsikri (IND), Anurag Dhanda (AAP), Ashish Rasila (IND), Jitender Singh Alias Dhola (IND), Pritam Kolekhan (JJP), Rajender Kumar (IND), Rajesh Kumar (IND), Rampal Majra (INLD), Salinder Kumar (IND), Sandeep Kotra Advocate (IND), Satvinder Singh Rana (IND), and Vinod Nirmal (IND).
