As per the official trends by the Election Commission of India, BJP paints Madhya Pradesh saffron as the party reaches a safe edge by crossing 100, while Congress is struggling to cross 50. BJP is leading Congress with over 130 Seats. Congress has crossed 50.
Earlier, Union Minster and BJP party leader Jyotiraditya Scindia pronounced his confidence in forming the government in Madhya Pradesh with “absolute majority”.
Madhya Pradesh, the central Indian state, witnessed an outright battle between the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the opposition Indian National Congress (INC) this time and both the parties are eagerly waiting for the final results, a semi-final to the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. The state went polling booths on November 17 and the election was conducted in a single phase for all the 230 assembly constituencies. The BJP expects an easy win looking back to the state’s previous history.
According to the Chief Electoral Officer office of Madhya Pradesh, the state fielded 2533 candidates in total across various political parties and includes independent candidates. The ruling BJP had 230 candidates in total, covering all the constituencies, among which 203 are male and 27 females. Among the 230 candidates of Congress, 200 are male and 30 are females. The Aam Aadmi Party was also there in the forefront of battle with a total of 66 competitors – 54 male, 11 female and one transgender. 106 political parties have filed nominations, and among the candidates, 1166 are independent competitors.
