Modi Is Accepting Defeat; Take It In Writing, He’ll Not Become PM: Rahul Gandhi

Raebareli, May 17: Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi today said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was accepting the defeat and he was scared and nervous.

“Take it in writing from me that Narendra Modi is not becoming the Prime Minister on June 4”, he said while addressing a mammoth rally here today. He said, ‘INDIA’ government will be formed on June 4.

Gandhi alleged, this was because Modi had insulted the poor of the country. He pointed out, Modi waived off Rs 16 lakh crores of debt of just 22 billionaires. He said, this amount was enough to fund the pro-poor MGNREGA scheme for 24 years. “That means Modi gave 24 years of MGNREGA money to just 22 people”, he remarked.

Speaking on the occasion, Chairperson of the Congress Parliamentary Party, Ms Sonia Gandhi expressed profound gratitude to the people of Raebareli for standing with her and her family. She said, it was over a 100 year old sacred relationship.

She urged people here to support and stand by Rahul the way they stood by her and assured that he will never disappoint them.

Rahul Gandhi said, the fight was for protecting the constitution. He said, India cannot survive without the constitution. At the same time, he assured, nobody can touch the constitution, leave aside changing it, as the BJP leaders were claiming to do.

The former Congress president reiterated the revolutionary economic relief package for the poor, the farmers and the unemployed youth of the country. He said, there was an economic idea behind this scheme as it will jump start the Indian economy.

Announcing that after the INDIA bloc forms the government on June 4, just within a month, from July 4, poor women across the country will start receiving Rs 8500 every month and will continue to receive this amount till they do not come out of their poverty.

Similarly, he added, for the youth, once they graduate from the colleges they will be provided one year apprenticeship with a guaranteed income of Rs one lakh for that period.

He also announced that farmers’ debt will be waived off and there will be legal guarantee for the MSP.

Gandhi said, there was an economic idea behind this revolutionary scheme. He said, while Modi waived off Rs 16 lakh crores of debt of 22 billionaires, they did not spend it in India but in foreign countries.

He said, the money provided to the poor will be spent locally. This will generate demand for goods, which will automatically lead to production in factories, which in turn will generate jobs.

He said, the INDIA government will start the process of filling up 30 lakh vacancies from August 15 this year.

He said, the free food grains  provided to the poor will be doubled from 5 kgs to 10 kgs, pointing out, the scheme was actually started during the UPA government which brought the Food Security Act.

Addressing the meeting, Ms Priynaka Gandhi said, there was unprecedented synergy and understanding between the Congress and Samajwadi Party workers and it will be reflected in the election results.

Among those present on the occasion included Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Bhagel, KC Venugopal, Avinash Pande, Prmaod Tiwari and others.
