
Najafgarh Election Results: BJP’s Neelam Pahalwan Leads
Delhi election results: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)’s Neelam Pahalwan is leading in the Najafgarh assembly constituency with a margin of 13,253 votes as per the updates published by the Election Commission of India on its official website. As per the latest lead reports from various media houses, BJP is leading in over 40 seats out of the total 70 seats in the Delhi Assembly.
In Najafgarh, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)’s Tarun Kumar and Indian National Congress’ Sushma Devi Yadav are in second and third places respectively as per the early leads.
Najafgarh has seen the constituency shifting its political allegiance since its formation in 1993 with BJP, Congress and AAP.
In 1993, Suraj Parshad Paliwal, an independent was elected from the constituency. Congress’ Kanwal Yadav had won from Najafgarh in 1998. 2003 and 2008 had seen the constituency electing two independents, Ranbir Singh and Bharat Singh Shokeen.
In 2013, BJP’s Ajeet Singh Kharkhari and in 2020, AAP’s Kailash Gahlot won from the constituency. Kailash Gahlot, a former AAP minister and then a senior leader of the Kejriwal’s party, shifted to BJP recently alleging his boss and party of corruption and cheating people of Delhi.
The results for the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections will be announced on Saturday, February 8, determining whether the AAP can secure a fourth consecutive term or if the BJP will reclaim power after 27 years. The Congress, once dominant in Delhi politics, is also attempting a comeback but is expected to remain a minor player.
The counting of votes commenced at 7 am, with initial trends emerging by 8 am. The final results are expected by 6 pm, with real-time updates available on the Election Commission’s official websites.
