“People have faith in the double-engine government”, said Ashwini Vaishnav, the Union Minister of Railways, Communications, Electronics and Information Technology, on Sunday. He expressed delight to the media as BJP confirmed a victory in 2023 Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly Elections, with a clear margin. The party is about to form another government in the state and has crossed the halfway mark. The counting is still in progress and the major leaders are all keeping a substantial vote margin.
“This is a great victory for BJP in Madhya Pradesh”, said Mr Vaishnaw. He added that the incumbent BJP government of the state had done a great work and it helped people to secure their faith in the “double-engine government”. According to him, the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the performance of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan helped the party to secure an easy win this time. “I congratulate everyone”, he added while addressing the media at the party office in Bhopal.

As per the recent trends provided by the Election Commission of India (ECI), the BJP is leading in 159 seats and Congress in 68 seats. Madhya Pradesh has a total number of 230 assembly constituencies and the state went the polling booths on November 17.
The BJP was expecting an easy win looking back to the state’s previous history. The sitting Chief Minister, Mr Chouhan, is there in the office since 2005, except a two-year break in 2018 to 2020. He is the longest-serving CM of Madhya Pradesh (4 times) and also the national Vice-President of BJP – a steadfast labourer of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
