The voting of the Telangana assembly election 2023, which will determine the fate of 2,290 candidates contesting for 119 seats, began at 7am on Thursday. Telangana witnessed intense campaigns of different parties featuring their national leaders including Narendra Modi for BJP, Rahul Gandhi for Congress and K Chandrashekar Rao for Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS). On voting day, 20.64% voters turned up till 11 am.

Several celebrities from the Telugu movie industries came to the polling booth to cast their votes. Earlier today, Allu Arjun was spotted waiting patiently in the line to cast his vote. Similarly, Jr NTR casted his vote along with his family.

Meanwhile, actor Naga Chaitanya and Nagarjuna along with his wife, arrived at government Working women’s hostel in Jubilee hills, Hyderabad to cast their vote. Numerous celebrities appeared actively to fulfil their democratic duty.

Asaduddhin Owaisi, president of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen after casting his vote in Hyderabad said to reporters, “I urge the people of Telangana to exercise their right to vote to strengthen democracy…. It is very important that those living in urban areas vote, not think of this day as a holiday. If you vote, the accountability of the politicians will also increase. First-time voters have a great responsibility to fulfil,” reports ANI.

BRS MLA KT Rama Rao after casting his vote said that he has fulfilled his duty being a citizen of the state and he has voted for the betterment of the state and for the people who will take the state forward in a progressive manner. “I appeal to all citizens of Telangana to come out and exercise your franchise,” he added.

BJP candidate against Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao slammed at the ruling party after casting his vote and said, “KCR was nothing 40 years ago, he became a CM over the journey of years… They became big leaders because their time was right. They should not be considered as geniuses. I am 101% sure I will win…”.

Results of Telangana along with other states Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Mizoram, will be announced on December 3. Telangana is the final state to conduct its assembly election.
