Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday promised the voters that if Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led alliance NDA wins the Lok Sabha election in 400 seats, it will construct temples at the birthplace of Lord Krishna in Mathura and the mosque in Varanasi.

His statement came while addressing a public rally in Jharkhand’s Bokaro to support BJP candidate Dhullo Mahto in the 2024 Lok Sabha election. He reminded voters of the fulfillment of aforementioned promises and said that by giving them 400 seats, temples would be raised in Mathura and Gyanvapi mosque in Kashi.

He listed the promises fulfilled by the BJP after winning more than 300 seats in the 2019 elections, saying Ram Lalla returned to his throne in Ayodhya on ‘Pran Pratishtha’ day, and Article 370 was abrogated in Jammu and Kashmir.

“Our work is still incomplete. Give 400 seats to Modiji, we will raise temples at the birthplace of Lord Krishna in Mathura and the Gyanvapi mosque in Kashi (Varanasi),” the Assam CM said.

He further added that if BJP comes to power, they would bring the Pakistan-occupied Kashmir back to India. And PM Modi will also make India a ‘Vishwaguru’ and the world’s best economy.

Sarma taking a jibe at opposition parties and the INDIA bloc claiming that they don’t have any issues with PM Modi winning 300 seats but cannot see the NDA with 400 seats in the third term.

“The JMM leaders, while holding rallies and addressing the people, seldom chant “Jai Shree Ram”.They say “Assalam Walekum.” In India, you cannot practise the politics of insulting the Hindus,” Mr Sarma said.

Addressing the rally, he, then, took a swipe at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and asked, “I want to ask Rahul Gandhi: how many backward, tribal and Dalit people were made industrialists by Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi? Narendra Modi made an Adivasi the country”s President.”

He, then, claimed that inflation was lowest in BJP-ruled states he said, “In BJP-ruled states, the cost of petrol-diesel is the lowest. Today, in BJP-ruled states, inflation is the lowest. We also have the maximum number of welfare schemes. Our mothers get ₹ 1200 monthly, and the government employees get 50 per cent DA.”

The general elections are being held in seven phases and the results will be declared on June 4.
