“Will Get An Apt Reply…” Pinarayi Vijayan Backs PV Anvar’s DNA Remark

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Tuesday supported MLA PV Anvar’s controversial remark against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. While speaking at a press conference in Kannur, Pinarayi Vijayan, while supporting the MLA, said that Rahul should understand that when he comes to Kerala and takes a stand favoring the BJP, he will get an apt reply for it.

PV Anvar, during an election rally, said that Rahul Gandhi should undergo a DNA test to check to see whether he belongs to the Gandhi family.

Anvar’s comment came in response to Rahul Gandhi’s accusation that the BJP is shielding Pinarayi Vijayan from the Enforcement Directorate arrest on corruption charges. Vijayan thus backed Anwar’s remark and claimed that Rahul’s presence in Kerala shows that the Congress leader is immature and incapable of thinking independently.

“He is merely repeating the words of local leaders. That”s why I recommended to Rahul that he should not entice people to use his old name”, Vijayan said.

He further added that Rahul Gandhi is nowhere to be seen when extremely serious issues come up in the country. Meanwhile, the Congress has filed a complaint against Anvar with the election commission demanding police action for his comments against Rahul Gandhi and his family.

Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) acting president MM Hassan submitted the complaint and said Anvar is the reincarnation of Godse, who assassinated Mahatma Gandhi. “Anvar’s words pose a greater danger than the bullets of Godse”, Hassan stated in the letter attached to the complaint.

Senior Congress leader and AICC Secretary K C Venugopal also came out against the insulting remarks against Gandhi. He alleged that Anvar’s comments were made with the chief minister’s support and he has not only insulted Rahul Gandhi but also the martyrdom of Rajiv Gandhi.
