'Unlivable': Pinarayi Vijayan Wonders How Ex-LoP Manage To Stay In Cantonment House

Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala: Leader of Opposition (LoP) Pinarayi Vijayan on Friday said the official residence of the Leader of the Opposition, Cantonment House, is currently in an unlivable condition.

Wondering how the previous LoP stayed in the Cantonment House, Vijayan stressed that renovation and maintenance is necessary to make them habitable and safe rather than luxurious. He said he did not know how the former Leader of the Opposition (V.D. Satheesan) managed to stay there.

The former chief minister said that he is still living in a rented home, adding that he found the condition of the Cantonment House unfit for staying upon visiting though he initially expected to shift to a few weeks ago.

Referring to the recent minor fire that broke out in a room at the Cantonment House, Vijayan pointed out that if the incident had occurred after he moved in, it would have generated unnecessary controversy and media narratives.
