Palakkad, Kerala: Amid a political row over BJP workers led by a councilor blocking UDF candidate Ramesh Pisharody during his campaign, Karela chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Thursday, April 2, came down heavily upon the saffron workers, saying, “See how intolerant the BJP cadres are.

“During elections, all candidates should have access to the public to seek votes. How can someone block another candidate,” the chief minister asked. “Didn’t they try to prevent Ramesh Pisharody attacking him? This is the BJP’s style – they imitate what their workers do elsewhere,” the chief minister added.
The incident has sharply escalated the political temperature in Palakkad constituency, pushing the election battle into a more confrontational phase.
