50 Days To 'War 2': Hrithik Roshan Unveils Gritty New Posters

The countdown to one of 2025’s biggest cinematic spectacles has officially begun. With just 50 days to go, War 2, the much-anticipated next chapter in the YRF Spy Universe, is gearing up for a thunderous global release on August 14, 2025, aligning with the Independence Day weekend.

Directed by Ayan Mukerji, the action juggernaut stars Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR, and Kiara Advani, and promises a blend of espionage, betrayal, and explosive action sequences set against an international canvas.

Unveiling the latest posters on social media, Hrithik Roshan reintroduced audiences to Major Kabir Dhaliwal — this time with sharper edges and deadlier resolve. His caption read, “This time he’s ruthless, merciless, relentless and ready for WAR. Are you? The countdown begins now. #50DaystoWar2”.


Alongside Kabir’s new look, the first glimpses of Jr NTR and Kiara Advani in their undisclosed roles were also revealed, igniting a wave of excitement across fan bases in both North and South India.

Following the monumental success of Pathaan and Tiger 3, Yash Raj Films is betting big on War 2 to take its spy franchise to a global scale. The film marks the sixth instalment in the interconnected universe that began with Ek Tha Tiger (2012), and for the first time, it will have an IMAX premiere across continents, a major milestone for an Indian action film.

While War (2019) explored Kabir’s descent into rogue territory, War 2 will reportedly plunge deeper into his next covert operation, as he embarks on a deadly mission to neutralise a new threat.

War 2 also serves as Jr NTR’s much-awaited Hindi film debut. Known for his magnetic screen presence and commanding action sequences in Telugu cinema, Jr NTR’s role is expected to add heft and grit to the narrative. Kiara Advani, meanwhile, makes her entry into the YRF Spy Universe, reportedly portraying a character central to Kabir’s mission.

Cameos, Crossovers, and Cinematic Synergy

In what is being kept as a closely guarded surprise, Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan are reportedly set to make impactful cameo appearances. According to a News18 report, Salman’s character Tiger will play a crucial narrative link in the evolving spy timeline, further weaving the interconnected threads of YRF’s ambitious storytelling.

Produced by Aditya Chopra under the YRF banner, War 2 is slated to hit cinemas worldwide on August 14, 2025. The film will be released in multiple formats, including IMAX.
