Veteran Bollywood actor Govinda was rushed to CritiCare Asia Hospital in Juhu, Mumbai, early on Wednesday, after he lost consciousness at home, according to reports by PTI.

The 61-year-old actor reportedly fainted late Tuesday night due to sudden disorientation. His close friend and legal advisor Lalit Bindal confirmed that Govinda was administered medication following a telephonic consultation with a doctor before being admitted to the hospital around 1 a.m.

“He was given medicine after consulting a doctor and was admitted to the hospital in an emergency at 1 a.m. He has undergone several tests and is now awaiting the reports,” Bindal told NDTV.

While doctors have not released an official statement, sources close to the actor have indicated that Govinda’s condition is currently stable and that he is under observation.

Visuals shared by the Press Trust of India (PTI) showed media and fans gathering outside the hospital following news of the actor’s admission.

Govinda, known for his iconic roles in Hindi cinema during the 1990s and early 2000s, has had previous health-related incidents. In October 2024, he was admitted to the same Juhu hospital after accidentally shooting himself in the leg with his licensed revolver. The bullet was extracted following an hour-long surgery, and he was discharged after a brief stay in the ICU.

At that time, Govinda explained that the gun misfired while he was placing it inside a cupboard before leaving for a show in Kolkata. The actor had reflected on the incident, saying, “Fame is a flame and you have to be aware of the flame which is around… when you get successful, you have to tread carefully.”

Govinda, who is also a member of the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, had visited veteran actor Dharmendra at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai just a day before his recent health scare.
